Relationship Between Availability of Food and Human Populations

When sufficient food is available, a population is healthy and active. Such people can work hard, use their intelligence well and improve the economy of their country. They will enjoy a high standard of living. As most of the people are educated, they will realise the importance of controlling birth rates by using family planning methods. Thus, in spite of an ample food supply, the rate of population growth is controlled and law.

In developing countries, sufficient food is not available to most of the people. Consequently, many people are malnourished or starving. Carmine is prevalent. A UNICEF estimates shows that about 14 million children under the age of five starve to death each year. This is because children are the ones who are extremely vulnerable to malnutrition caused by food shortage.

People who do not get sufficient food are weak and unhealthy , and succumb readily to infectious diseases. Such people cannot work productively. If they are farmers, as is the case in most developing countries, crop production will decrease, worsening the food situation. The economy of the country will be affected badly and the standard of living and education will be low as a result, the people will not realise the importance of family planning as a solution to their problems.

Any other animal population would start to decrease once food is not sufficient. The human population of any country, however, is never completely isolated. Aids comes to the population in all forms, the main aim being to reduce the death rate through improved health Carr and medical facilities. Birth rate, on the hand, does not decrease to the same extent as the date rate. This can be seen clearly in my previous writeup which shows the birth and death rates in India, a country where a large percentage of people do not get sufficient food. So amidst all the poverty and starvation, the population growth rate shows a progressive increase in developing countries.
