Hair shampoo : these contain soap, oil and protein when applied. They remove the dirt's from the scalp and from the hair. It dissolves grease and adds sheen to the hair. Some of the brand of shampoos are for relaxed hair and some are for natural hair. These conditioners are particularly important for permed hair. It makes the hair manageable. Every good hair conditioner carries instructions as to the types of hair it can be used on and how to use it.
Hair cream, pomade and oils : the purpose of these are to :
1. Lubricate and soften the hair and the scalp
2. Prevent dryness of both the hair and the scalp
3. Keep the hair glossy , pliable and healthy. Other products which are added to the hair and scalp to promote its healthy state include: hair sprays. Alovera lotions, hair activator etc. Locally made oil for the hair include palm kernel oil, coconut oil, among others.
