• low death Rate
Developing Countries tend to have
• a Hugh percentage of young people (under 20 Years)
• short life spans
• high birth rate and
• high infant Mortality rate.
We see that in developed countries the rate of population growth is controlled. This is because the fall in death is accompanied by a fall on birth rate. This is a result of effective birth control programmes. In fact in some European countries, the population growth is zero , i.e. the birth rate is equal to the death rate.
In developing countries, the birth rate remains high although the death rate has been calling. Earlier illustrations shows that the number of birth in India is more than double that in the unites kingdom. This is partly due to the population structure. For example the percentage of women of child bearing age is higher in India than in the united kingdom. Also , in India and in most other developing countries, the women marry when they are very young. These are some factors that contribute to a high rate in most developing countries.
