My write up is devoted to the clinical study of typical motions that take place in some engineering systems such as motor vehicles, screw Jack's, vices, sewing machines, etc. The different types of motion as described in terms of the basic linear motion and rotary motion. Systems, which perform these motions are presented. Also presented are systems that convert linear motion to rotary motion and vice versa.
