Legislation and Education
To reduce pollution on a national level, we have to pass strict anti pollution laws. These laws set limits on the amount of pollutants that may be released into the environment. They also impose penalties on those who exceed these limits.
Making people aware of the dangers of pollution is another Important method of reducing pollution. This can be done through newspaper, posters, radio and television, and through schools. An awareness of the dangers of pollution would make people consciously behave in a way that would reduce pollution. For example, people would use paper carefully and help in recycling it if they knew that large stretches of forests are cut down to provide paper for our use. Deforestation is one of the factors that contributes to the increase in the level of atmospheric carbon dioxide.
