Labelling

Labelling is an important aspect of packaging. Labels may range from simple tags attached to products too complex graphics that are part of the package.

They perform several functions. The label identifies the product or brand. The label might also describe several things about the product.
For instance, it would state who made the product, where it was made, when it was made, its contents, how it is to be used and how to use it safely. Finally, the label might promote the products through attractive graphics. When used wrongly, labels can mislead customers, fail to describe important ingredients, or failed to include needed safety warnings.

The practice in labelling today, is two-state unit pricing, that is the producer states the price per unit of standard measure. We also have open dating, that is stating the expected shelf life or expiration date of the product, nutritional labelling comma that is stating the nutritional values in the product. Thus, marketers must ensure that their labels contain all the required information.
