Universality of Man

   Social studies is a study of man in the society. Man as a social animal is the nucleus of the study. I have mentioned in my last write that man can easily adapt to various environment in which he finds himself. In this same vein , men , the world over, are influenced in their physique by environmental conditions.

   Differences are essential characteristics of natural occurrences. For two things to be named differently, they must be strikingly different. Homo sapiens, is a universal description of man, but, they possess various structures of body form.

   Culture is a universal characteristic of human society,  yet each culture is different from the other. Some similarities are found, but in historical experience, interpersonal relationship and natural endowment which all affect Hunan living; some differences are inevitable. Within a race, there might be different cultures as shown in the different ways of life. Concerning individual tendency, no single individual  is exactly the same as the other. People may resemble one another in some respects, they are still bound to be different from one another.

Adaptation is an essence in man's survival because, environment can wickedly eliminate the weak or subject them to hazards for lack of adaptive qualities.

   Mans ability to adapt to different environmental conditions allow him to live in and exploit different kinds of environment. It also enables him to survive. Man can modify his environment to suit his livelihood.

    The core of universality of man is that though there are cultural and environmental diversities, man belongs to a single species with the same basic need. Man is basically the same everywhere.
