The solid dodecahedron has 12 sides. The sides can be regular pentagonal or hexagonal shapes.
Step 1 : Draw a regular pentagon
Step 2 : On every side of Pentagon no. 1 , draw the five other Pentagons. No's. 2,3,4,5 and 6. This will ensure equal gaps around no. 1 pentagonal shape.
Step 3: Select Pentagon no. 3 as the base, and to the right side of it draw another pentagon --- no. 10.
Step 4: Add a Pentagon each to the surrounding ones, I.e. no's. 7,8,9, and 11.
Step 5 : Add a Pentagon --- No. 12 ----- to No. 12 at the top right side as shown Pentagon No. 12 is designed the 'top'.
Step 6: Cut the spaces , and fold on the lines. Pasting flaps should be added if the model is to be constructed. An alternative is to ude cello tape for holding the figure together. If folded properly, the solid dodecahedron will be obtained.
